Xmas, love it or leave it??

i have to say that i’m not enjoying the xmas season.

i have no emotional ties and i’m spending money that i have not set aside for xmas during a slow work season for my trade.. i’m not happy about it, because it’s foolish to spend money when you aren’t making any.

then i feel like i’m expected to do all this, and to be happy about spending money and time on persons that i’m not that involved with.

I love it - but the focus isn’t on presents. Most adults in our circle of friends don’t exchange presents. We buy gifts for my great nieces and nephews, send money to my nieces and nephews, but there isn’t any pressure to do so. We do not go into debt. I tell my nieces and nephews to just send us pictures instead of gifts.

I love the tree and having ornaments that have memories attached to them. Christmas parties with silly games and ugly sweaters are also fun.

Sometimes my husband and I exchange presents, but most of the time we buy something bigger for us both, like a trip or furniture or something.

We don’t allow Christmas to become a crazy stressful holiday.

i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

I don’t know what she was going through in the past, maybe she didn’t value herself, maybe she just liked having sex. Your comment about “if we had a relationship it wouldn’t matter to her more than anyone else” is naive. If she loves you, your relationship already means more to her than any of her non-relationship encounters. Sex doesn’t = love, and your relationship should be based on a lot more than sex.

She deserves to be with someone who can accept her past and all, and not judge her or try to make her out as somehow damaged. Just because you have different morals doesn’t make you superior.

banks create money “out of thin air.”empirical studies have been undertaken to prove this thesis and this is the conclusion:.

in the 5,000 year history of banking, banks have been thought of as “deposit taking institutions which lend money”.. 1. what is the legal reality?

banks don’t take deposits and don’t lend money.the public is under this false impression on purpose because the language of banks is not legal language.. so--what is a “deposit”?a deposit is not actually a deposit.

I was once Vice President of a Bank and was responsible for managing our liquidity. Banks can’t just make money out of thin air. There is a balance between how much of your deposits on hand you can loan out, how much are kept in overnight funds (invested overnight), how much is in short term investments. Also you have to manage the loan terms and your deposit terms. If a bank makes too many long term fixed rate loans but doesn’t match that up with long term fixed rate deposits it can be disastrous. In this scenario your deposits would reprice faster than your loans resulting in greater costs(interest paid to customers on deposits) than income ( interest paid to the bank on loans.)

The interest charged on loans vs the interest paid out on deposits is the spread which a bank pays its operating costs from. If the bank doesn’t have the loan volume needed then they invest the extra deposits to bring in more income. Obviously this is the simplified version, but at no point does the bank make money out of thin air.

There are regulations that limit what types of investments the bank can use in order to protect deposits. Banks are always trying to push the envelope on what investments qualify to increase their profits.

It's My Birthday Today

today is my 34th birthday.

or, my 3rd birthday that i've actually acknowledged seeing as i was raised in the cult.. i woke up this morning to my 4yo running into my room and wishing me a "happy birthday daddy!".

i got a card from my ex-jw brother and i bought myself a birthday gift - a new 50mm lens for my nikon camera (photography is a hobby i took up since leaving the cult).. i dont know about you guys, but birthdays is still something i have to make a conscious effort to acknowledge and enjoy.

joe : dont get mad or offensive, but there was a documentary that aired a few nights ago on prime time tv in the usa concerning the jws, and there was some very nasty stuff mentioned, and it certainly wasn’t positive toward the organisation.

I don’t think it’s a shame to voice opinions and debate others on topics that we are passionate about. I don’t usually wade into those political discussions if it’s not something I care about.

Debating and having discussions gives me an opportunity to form an opinion, enforce an opinion or disregard an opinion. If someone on an anonymous discussion board is mean to me - I don’t let it ruin my day. Some people enjoy heated debates so I leave them to it - people don’t have to change to suit me.

I yelled at dubs today ( again )

so i roll up to the job site and looky there, two uber pioneer dubs dragging themselves down the sidewalk.

both ladies are in there early 60's and born in.. my heart started pumping, but i had to act.i was directly across the street from them.

i walked right to the sidewalk and said in a very loud, but not mean voice: "you can't teach overlapping generations from the bible!!

I think you have to work through this your own way. If yelling across the street helps you to work through your anger, then let it rip. Just don’t get stuck in the anger and bitter spot, feel it and move through it.

You didn’t like the way it made you feel - so maybe try some other outlet that does make you feel good in the future.

You cant control or change other people, only yourself. I hope you can find peace on the other side of this.

I took a new job that offered me $30k more than my old job - for less work/responsibility😀.

My side business consulting has been bringing in so much business I am turning clients down.

Update About Terrific Grandkid

just had to share some good news in our family - my granddaughter has her car packed and she's getting moved into the dorm at her university tomorrow morning!

all day i've been thinking about how fantastic it is when you know without a doubt that a precious kid has absolutely made the right decision for their life.

we have hoped so much that she would be able to attend college.. she graduated high school this past may and qualified for a scholarship to a wonderful school.

London Protest 2018

well today marks the beginning and biggest day of our protest at the london excel.. we believe it's a record number at around 100 exjws at the front door.. we spoke to lots of jw's and one young man studying who has quit after talking to us.

we've been approached privately by jw's who thanked us for coming and the security at the event treated us very well.. if anyone wants to see some clips they are available on my channel the great apostate.. thanks to all for the support and love..

I think about the protests in terms of the people doing the protesting.(This was respectful, not screaming. I can’t support the scary protests.)

The people protesting have found their voice, and are getting stronger. They are people learning to stand up for themselves the best way they know how right now. As they get distance and perspective maybe they will try something different.
